On December 5, Facebook will be imposing some restrictions on apps that run outside of the main Facebook website. These policy changes will affect how you play MouseHunt outside of Facebook.
Hunters who enjoy playing on http://www.MouseHuntGame.com will need to create a login to connect to their existing MouseHunt account. It will be super simple. All game data will be tied to this login and shared between both the Facebook and offsite version of MouseHunt in the same way it is now.
Starting next week, hunters will be able to create their logins and tie them to their existing MouseHunt accounts.
After December 5, hunters will no longer be able to login using their Facebook account when playing outside of Facebook.
If you currently play on Facebook (apps.facebook.com/mousehunt) exclusively, you will not be affected and don’t need to do anything.
The mobile app for iOS currently uses FB Connect and will be unaffected by this change. A Facebook account is required in order to use the mobile app.
Once the change goes live on December 5, hunters can visit http://www.MouseHuntGame.com at any time to create their logins and tie it to their existing MouseHunt account.
I don’t want to create a login
• You can simply play on Facebook (apps.facebook.com/mousehunt) and will not be affected
I like using PayPal and/or Cherry Credits
• You must create a login as these services will only be available on http://www.MouseHuntGame.com
• Leftover Cherry Credits must all be spent before December 5 if you are not creating a login
The login system will go live next week so that hunters can begin creating logins and tying them to their existing MouseHunt accounts. More information about the change and in what other ways it will affect hunters soon to come.
Q. Can I delete Facebook and just use the offsite game?
A. I would advise against it for now. We don’t want any unforeseen consequences to affect the functionality of MouseHunt and/or your game data!
Q. What will happen to my friends list?
A. In time, we will provide a method which will allow you to connect to other hunters in-game. We’ll announce more news of this as it develops and when it goes live. For now, existing friends will not be affected.
Q. Can we still play on both Facebook and the offsite game?
Q. How will it affect gifting, teams and maps?
A. Instead of fb requests you will get in-game requests.
Q. Currently you have to be friends with someone to invite them to your map/team – if you friend them on facebook side will the offsite still see them as a friend?
A. Your friendlist will update only on the Facebook site. We are no longer allowed access friend list from offsite.
Q. If half a tourney team sign up and the other half don’t, how will this affect team journals and team hunts?
A. This will work the same way as it does now, nothing will change.
Q. Will the bookmarks for mobile sites still work?
Q. Can we create multiple accounts?
A. No, you can only have 1 Mousehunt account.
Q. All my right click tabs open in canvas (i.e. everything I look at except my main camp page, including the forums) will these now default back to FB?
A. We believe this will still work.. however its hard to be 100% sure how facebook will behave. If there is an issue we will address at that time.
Q. Will the MHG ids be the same as the FB_id currently used?
A. For now yes. going forward we will likely be using our own internal user_id more.
Q. Will we beable to share charms/catches etc from offsite?
A. For now no because you won’t be able to post to facebook – it’s something we are looking into.
Q. What about the mobile iOS app?
A. The mobile app for iOS currently uses FB Connect and will be unaffected by this change. A Facebook account is required in order to use the mobile app.

As Jacob Johnson report earlier:
When I was visiting the Gnawnian defense council to try to figure out what’s going around the kingdom I noticed some scribes frantically preparing some documents.
I wonder what these are? It looks like the kingdom is gearing up for something big! But shh… best keep it in confidence, we don’t want to start a panic, okay?
We can safely guess that the new content is very close from being revealed!! Keep your eyes open and be prepared!
